Lowden O22 Cedar/Mahogany Narrow Neck Jumbo

Lowden logo

Our first Lowden jumbo, and what a tremendous guitar! This guitar has redefined what a jumbo is and what it should be for us. Red cedar and mahogany pair in a most extraordinary way, providing a crystal clear response with that Lowden sparkle that has been evident all in of the instruments so far - whether you are thrashing through a raucous open D folk tune, or a delicate fingerpicked 'Bon Iver' tune. We ordered this one up with the slightly narrower neck option, and it is a VERY comfortable guitar to play (still slightly wider at the nut than Gibson spec). If you're looking for a guitar with expansive tone, great bloom, and presence and punch, look no further.

The ‘O’ is the most widely recognised Lowden shape having been the first of George Lowden’s designs and remains unchanged since the mid 1970’s. It is the largest size and is sought after for its bass and overtones, and has traditionally been the preferred choice for fingerstyle and open tuning . It has a deep and resonant tone.
